Beau's All Natural Brewing Co., Vankleek Hill, ON, Canada

I got the news earlier this week that new draft kolsch (or more properly "a certain kolsch-like substance") will be rolling out in kegs this weekend in quality sipping joints in farthest eastern Ontario. And it appears the beer drinkers of the area were ready, according to yesterday's press release: Go ahead and call them sell-outs. They don't mind at all.
The team at Eastern Ontario's newest brewery, Beau’s All Natural Brewing Co., couldn't be happier that all 30 hectolitres (3,000 L, or roughly 5,300 pints) of their first batch of beer are already spoken for by Ottawa-area bars and restaurants. In fact, they say being "sold out" before the first pint is sold to the public is a dream come true. "We were anticipating a strong demand, and this confirms it," says Beau’s co-founder Steve Beauchesne. "We actually had planned to make a bigger first batch, but were told by our financial advisors to scale back, so we did. Still, we knew in our hearts that the region was desperate for this." Danged financial advisors. The Beauchesne family has been around very eastern tip of Ontario for generations and Beau's is a family operation that has been in the works for quite some time. That will come in handy as Steve, son of Tim (shown with the mash), tells me about Saturday's events: ...we'll have people out at all of our accounts throughout the day, our brewer included. If you are planning on being around let me know, and I can arrange the schedule to make sure I can say hi, and try to get our brewer to meet you as well. Sadly, I have to celebrate Canada watching Brazil and France play but if I was nearer Vankleek Hill I might just find a TV and a tap in the same room when I could samba in yellow and green all afternoon. You will be able to find Beau's brew at the following bars in the region: -
Clocktower Brew Pub (two locations), Ottawa
-
Bourgetel, Bourget
-
National Press Club of Canada, Ottawa
-
The Black Tomato, Ottawa
-
Hawkesbury Golf and Curling Club
-
Shannon's Pub, Hawkesbury
-
Windsor Tavern, Vankleek Hill
-
St. Eugene Tavern, St. Eugene
Good luck on a the weekend guys. With any luck it will all get drained.
